Snow Days

Ladies and gentlemen, our world is a snowy one, and—as our backyard squirrel friend discovered—quite a cold one as well! We've contemplated suiting up for a quick romp in the snow, but after watching Squirrel shiver on this branch for most of the morning, we decided it was much too cold outside. Maybe later....

In the meantime, we've been trying to find fun ways to pass the time inside. Thank goodness for all those Christmas toys, right?!? For Ava, the Play-Doh cake-maker (which I mentioned in an earlier post) has been a top choice. For me as well. We've made more cakes than we can count, but I did snap a few shots of our favorites. We even named them like they do on Amazing Wedding Cakes. Observe:
1. The Kiss a Frog Cake
2. The Seashell Sparkle Beach Cake
3. The Red Rose Hat Cake
4. The Wiggly Jiggly Worm Cake

As for Hudson, he's been simply gleeful to have his family around 24/7. Seriously! I think he's the only one of us who doesn't feel a little cooped up in the house. He played Play-Doh cakes with us, although he tried to eat his creations before I could photograph them. He rotated through both his and Ava's new toys. He watched some new videos. He snuggled, ran crazily through the house, and spoke more words than ever before. In short: he's been so much FUN!

Will we return to school tomorrow? Will we continue our merry-making for another day? Isn't this time of year grand? Ha!
